Local Food Producer Workshops
Annually in February and March, we host regional Local Food Producer Workshops in collaboration with the Kansas Department of Agriculture and the Kansas Center for Sustainable Agriculture & Alternative Crops. These workshops are an opportunity for producers and small food businesses to learn more about selling their products through farmers markets, direct-to-consumers sales, and other local market opportunities. Participants can connect with other producers and learn from their peers to improve their business success.
2026 Workshops:
All workshop locations include free scale certification and lunch. Some workshop locations also offer the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program training. Please review the agenda for your preferred location for details and topics.
Scale Certification Notes:
When bringing your scale, it would be best if you could bring along up to 5 years of previous scale test reports for that scale. If the scale has never been certified, it must have an active NTEP Certificate of Conformance. The following is a link to the NTEP Certificate website where you can research the status of your scale: https://www.ncwm.com/ntep-certificates.
