The Financial Planning team is made up of specialists, researchers and agents dedicated to providing practical solutions to real-world problems. Our team provides helpful resources to keep you on track for business planning, crop insurance, agricultural policy, family finances and budgeting.
Family Finances
While having more money cannot solve all problems, increasing our financial well-being can positively affect many of them. We provide information and education to help you improve your financial well-being. Our educational programs and resources support Kansans as they learn, develop skills, and adopt behaviors to:
- Meet current and ongoing financial obligations.
- Feel secure in their financial future.
- Be able to make choices that allow them to enjoy life.
Our educational efforts are led by a team of passionate local extension professionals and benefit from our connection to the Department of Personal Financial Planning in the College of Health and Human Sciences. The department is consistently ranked as one of the top five programs in the country and is home to innovative research in financial therapy, financial planning and financial counseling.
Farm Management
Our extension specialists and associates are committed to Kansas agriculture through the work we do to support finances on the farm.
Our service to community and industry is enhanced through research, extension and outreach, to extend our knowledge and resources beyond campus through professional organizations, outreach education and resources for producers, agribusinesses, cooperative professionals and other agricultural entitites.
Our outreach programs provide information and education on issues for agriculture and rural areas in Kansas. Kansas has one of the largest Agricultural Economics Extension programs inthe U.S., including 12 state specialists, two area specialists and 21 Kansas Farm Management Association Economists. Extension and outreach resources are available through the AgManager.info website. This easy-to-navigate system allows users to get the latest information and tools for their competitive businesses.
