ANNUAL CONFERENCE AWARDS LUNCHEON
The K-State Research and Extension Annual Conference Awards Luncheon is scheduled for Thursday, October 26, in the K-State Union. One of the major aspects of the Awards Luncheon is to recognize faculty members and unit heads who have received awards during the last 12 months by including their names, position title, unit, and award(s) in the session's handout brochure.

Before Friday, September 1, I need unit administrators and Extension Agent Association presidents to send me information on your unit's or association's "past recipients" who received awards during September 1999-August 2000. In addition, I'd also like information on your unit's personnel (name, title & unit) who served as mentors during the last 12 months to new faculty  members or unit heads.

Should you have any questions or need more information about this request, give me a call at 785-532-4370. Thank you for your consideration in responding to this request, and your support in helping our organization recognize our colleagues' outstanding productivity/achievements. --C. Stephen Scheneman sschenem@oznet.ksu.edu

ES-237 REPORT AND TWO DISKS DUE OCTOBER 1
October 1 is the due date for submitting two disks and the printed ES-237 Report to the State 4-H office. One disk should be labeled ES-237, and list the four ES-237 db files, with county name, county number, and 4-H year. The second disk should be labeled YOUTH DATA FILES, with county name, county number, and 4-H year. The second disk will have your Blue Ribbon Youth Data db files, excluding the Z5lites. A printed, balanced ES-237 Report is to be submitted with the disks. 4-H Youth Enrollment reporting is critically important at the county, state and federal levels, both to 4-H Youth Development itself, and for funding.

Since I will be at the State Fair September 7 - September 18, support concerning the Blue Ribbon Youth ES-237 Report will be limited.  --Sheila Roffler sroffler@oznet.ksu.edu

NEW HEADERS AND WEB AUTHOR RESOURCES
You may have noticed that there are a variety of new, slender, K-State Research & Extension headers available. The new choices are available under "Hot Topics" on the revamped WebBuilder site: http://www.oznet.ksu.edu/webbuilder/ . We will assist you in placing any new headers. For consistency within the organization, we ask that you don't alter the headers. However, we will certainly design header backgrounds or adapt background images which suit your site. The larger header, developed last fall, will continue to be supported. The old, gray gradient header is obsolete and may even contain dead links.

Web authors of all abilities are invited to join the Web Authors' Resource Group (WARG). We meet for brown bag lunches every second Wednesday. We have a website and a listserv where authors can exchange questions, tips, tricks, and ideas. Check out WARG on the WebBuilder site: http://www.oznet.ksu.edu/webbuilder/   --Susan Bale sbale@oznet.ksu.edu
