"RIVER FRIENDLY FARM PLAN"
A couple of weeks ago, letters of invitation and brochures were
distributed for the "River Friendly Farm Plan - Professional
Development Program." There will be five USDA sponsored workshops
here in Kansas, on the new Kansas River Friendly Farm program. Questions
have come up as to how to register for these workshops, since we did not
include a form. All you need to do to register is to call or e-mail Ginny
Claycomb at KCARE, 532-7103; gclaycom@oznet.ksu.edu
with the following information: 1) name, address, phone number, 2) social
security number (we need this to obtain re-imbursement for meal expenses
from the grant), 3) room preference (single, double, no- smoking etc), 4)
any food or other special needs. Also specify which workshop you are
registering for. The training is open to any KSU Ag employee, NRCS, and
other agricultural agencies and industries in Kansas.
The first registration deadline is November
6, for the Keating Farm location (workshop November 13-14); and the next
deadline is November 9, for the Schwinn Farm (workshop November 16 and
17). If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call me at
785-532-0409. --Rhonda Janke rjanke@oznet.ksu.edu
DISTANCE
DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM UPGRADE
The Distance Diagnosis system will be upgraded on Monday afternoon,
October 23, to change the archiving system used to store images/reports.
The upgrade should be completed in one afternoon and the system will be
operational again the next day. (Note: This is the first afternoon of
AES/CES Conference so there should be minimal traffic on the system then.

THANK YOU
Thanks to all my K-State Research & Extension colleagues for your
cards, calls, e-mails, and prayers during my recent surgery. Triple
by-pass was not part of my Master Calendar plan for this fall!!! However,
I'm thankful that it was discovered in time for the surgery to be
successful. Now I'm using all those great K-state health and diet
publications as part of my recovery process! Thanks again to all of you
for your support. --Jodi Besthorn besthorn@oznet.ksu.edu
