UNIVERSITY HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
The University will reduce activity from the close of business on
Friday, December 22, 2000, through Monday, January 1, 2001. Although the
University will close during this period, a few offices such as the

January 1 are holidays, the only normal workdays affected will be
December 26, 27, 28, and 29, 2000.
K-State Research and Extension’s policy
will be the same as the University: to close campus offices and
encourage employees not to work during this period, although some
employees may be asked to work. Prior approval from the departmental
supervisor is required. Buildings will be locked and heat may be reduced
to conserve energy. --Marc Johnson mjohnson@oznet.ksu.edu

COLGATE YOUTH FOR AMERICA CAMPAIGN
Here's another recognition opportunity for 4-H clubs or groups
performing community service. Tell Colgate about your club's service work
and win cash grants! All you need to do is describe the work your club did
in your community between March 1, 2000 and March 1, 2001. Details about a
single large project, program or event are preferred over a list of
several activities. Tell them about why the project was needed and how you
filled that need.
Attach any materials that might help
explain your idea and the scope of the program. You may include any media
coverage (press clips, local government recognition, etc.) to help show
the effect your project had. Please do not send videos of the actual
project, but TV news or radio clips are accepted. Please limit photos to
two. Materials will not be returned.
Over 315 cash prizes are available ranging
from $100 to $2,000. Your project will be judged based on originality and
the extent of community involvement or benefit. For more information go to
www.colgate.com or mail request
to Colgate Youth for America, Box 1058, FDR Station New York, NY 10150,
1058. Entries must be received by March 15, 2001. --Steve Fisher sfisher@oznet.ksu.edu
