competitive grant program that requires peer review panels for all
proposals. All sections of IFAFS need a broad spectrum of reviewers,
including academics (with appointments in extension, research, and/or
teaching), stakeholders, and others. If you have recommendations for
panelists, including yourself, please alert the designated program
directors named in the Request for Proposals. Please respond this week.
For more information about IFAFS, see the
right-hand side of our CSREES homepage: http://www.reeusda.gov/

QUIZ BOWL EQUIPMENT
From time to time our office receives calls about the buzzer
equipment used for quiz bowl contests. The company where we have
purchased our buzzers continues to upgrade their product. We have been
very satisfied with their service over the years. There may be other
companies that offer this equipment, but I am not aware of them. If your
county is interested in having your own equipment, you can request a
catalog from Zeecraft by calling 1-800-662-7475, or e-mail zeecraft@nep.net

KANSAS STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE SUMMER
HORSEMANSHIP CAMPS
These camps will be similar to those held last summer in which KSU
students will travel to your county and fulfill your horsemanship needs.
The clinicians will be qualified to give horsemanship clinics, test
youth for Levels I, II and III; and work with judging teams/individuals.
To schedule a date, please call Julie
Wolf at 785-532-1264. Have an idea of approximately how many would
attend, what type of clinic you prefer and dates you would like to host
the clinic.
It would be wise to visit with
neighboring counties and work together in scheduling the clinics.
Clinics would need to be scheduled on the weekends until mid-May and
then any day after that until mid-August.
The cost for the horsemanship clinic is
$12 per youth per day. There is no cost for level testing as it is
already paid for when the youth sends in the $10 to receive a test.
