RETIREMENT PARTY FOR DON CRESS AND DON MOCK
Please mark your calendars for the upcoming retirements of Don Cress and  Don Mock. A retirement party will be held on July 13, (yes, this is Friday the 13th), at the Blue Hills Banquet Room, Blue Hills Shopping Center, on the corner of Tuttle Creek Boulevard and Kimball Avenue.

Social hour will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., with dinner served at 7:30. The cost per person will be $15.00, which includes buffet, coffee and tea. There will be a cash bar available as well.

If you would like to submit letters, booklets will be assembled for each retiree. Please send letters to: Sharon Schroll, Department of Entomology, Kansas State University, 239 W. VERONICA OOTS IS RETIRING
After 22 years working for the 4-H School Enrichment Program in Wyandotte County, Veronica is retiring at the end of this school year. A retirement reception will be held for her on April 19, 2001, at the Wyandotte County Courthouse Annex, 9400 State Avenue, Kansas City Kansas. If you would like to send a note or card to Veronica you may send it to the above address. COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ASSOCIATION COFFEE SET
The Kansas Extension Agents Association, (KEAA), and Kansas Citizens for Extension Education, (KCEE), will host the Kansas County Commissioners Association Coffee on Friday, May 18, from 7:15  to 8:00 a.m. The event will be held at the Holiday Inn Convention Center Lobby, 3017 W. 10th Street, Great Bend. A continental breakfast will be provided.

Invitations for the county commissioners will be distributed through the county packets. Please watch for these invitations, cut them apart, and deliver them to your county commissioners at your earliest convenience as this will be their only notification.

SUPERVISING PERSONNEL TRAINING SESSION
If you supervise others as part of your job responsibilities, you are invited to attend this training session in supervising personnel on Wednesday, May 23, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pottorf Hall, Manhattan, Ks.

This session will set a framework and provide essential principles in supervising others. Presenters include Dr. Jim Lindquist, NE Area Extension Director; Stacey Warner, Leader, Extension Operations; Laurie Chandler, Shawnee County Extension Director; and Martha Murphy, Crawford County Extension Agent, EFNEP.

RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION AVAILABLE IN FUNGAL GENETICS LABORATORY
Specific duties include: Isolation and culture of fungi, supervision of undergraduate student assistants, maintenance of stock cultures and associated records, conducting genetic and molecular biology experiments with fungi, making microbiological media, greenhouse or field plot work and ordering supplies as needed. Successful candidate will hold a B.A./B.S. with at least 30 hours of science; experience and/or course work in genetics, microbiology, and/or molecular biology strongly preferred.
