IET SUPPORT IN WESTERN KANSAS
We are all saddened by Alvin Soukup's untimely death. IET is currently discussing interim service alternatives. For now, we would like anyone (county, area office or research center) who had ongoing or unresolved support circumstances with Alvin to call IET, 785-532-6270, and talk to Richard Wear. This would include consulting, equipment purchases, and DSL internet access. For all other technical support issues, please call our IET help desk at 785- 532-6270. We should be able to handle most issues over the phone. Issues that will require a visit will need to be discussed and assigned. We will do our best to meet your support needs during this difficult time. Thanks --Roger Terry rterry@oznet.ksu.edu

PUBLICATIONS/PRODUCTION SERVICES UPDATE
4-H Publications
Good news! If you recently received copies of MG-35, the 4-H Health Form that has been revised to a single sheet, your account will be credited for the lower charge allowed by the revision. Instead of the old $0.20 per item charge required by the multi-part form, the price has been reduced to $0.08 per copy. In addition, the form is available on the on-line publications library, http://www.oznet.ksu.edu/library , so you can print more forms if you need them. Although we have updated the price in the database, and are checking our files for incorrect invoices, we want to be sure we don't miss anyone. Please check the invoice received with any recent shipment of the publications, and send an e-mail to Jane Gibbs, jgibbs@oznet.ksu.edu , if you were charged the old $0.20 price.

The State 4-H Dog Show Immunization Record, MG-34, has been revised. The new forms place more importance on the required rabies vaccination by showing that information near the top (under color/markings). However, some of the old copies remained on the shelf and may have inadvertently been sent to clients in the place of the revision. Please contact us if you received some of the older forms (which have the rabies vaccination information near the bottom) with a recent order, so they can be replaced. Also note that if you have the old forms in your stock, you will want to replace them with the newly revised form.

July Order Forms Due
Orders for publications listed on the July 2001 Order Form are due by May 1. When Ordering, Remember ... Orders sent via fax may be delayed if the line is busy -- as it often is on deadline day -- so please be patient. When faxing:

* Please be sure your office name appears on each sheet, since sheets may become mixed on the machine. * Mark orders clearly in dark blue or black ink; pencil and other ink colors don't fax well.
* Avoid sending long quarterly orders by fax. Fax machine memory is limited. Send no more than four sheets at once, and confirm the number you are sending by marking "#1 of 4" on the first sheet, and continuing to mark each sheet. Since quarterly orders may be 20 pages or more, you may need to split up your order into several sections.
* Sending via Priority Mail (2-day delivery of up to 1 pound for $3.50) may be less expensive than sending multiple long-distance faxes, so compare pricing.
* To avoid busy signals and additional expenses, mail your order early enough to meet the deadline.

Garden Guide
Just in time for the gardening season, the Kansas Garden Guide, S-51, is available again after several months out of print. The publication, which now has been formatted electronically and undergone minor revision, is available to internal clients for $1.82. The guide covers vegetable crops, and deals with planning, composting, soil improvement, planting, watering, insect/disease control, container gardening, harvesting/storing, and fall gardens. Order via e-mail at orderpub@lists.oznet.ksu.edu .  --Nancy Peavler npeavler@oznet.ksu.edu
