NEWS UNIT UNVEILS NEW WEBSITE The new site is a look that we think is more fresh, but more importantly, gives a "news" feel to the site -- two things we think will appeal to reporters, especially. It should also be attractive to K-State Research and Extension personnel because it will allow you to find current and past stories more simply. In addition to the daily featured stories, you will have easy access to archives sorted by news topic, date and reporter. You can also use the site's search engine. As before, you may download stories as you please to use in newsletters, media relations or other public information channels. We will update stories and pictures every day of the work week. If you already receive news releases from the news unit by e-mail, you will continue to receive those, as well. For more information, please contact our office at 785-532-5806, or send e-mail to pmelgare@oznet.ksu.edu --Pat Melgares pmelgare@oznet.ksu.edu
MOVING FROM VISION TO ACTION The Vision to Action process and materials were created to help communities and organizations apply a participatory process engaging the entire group of participants rather than just leaders. The materials offer tools to assist in the development of a community action plan identifying what will be done, who will do it, and when it will be accomplished. The materials use a future orientation emphasizing what the community or organization wishes to preserve, change or create. Vision to Action training and materials have better equipped K-State Research and Extension to help communities and organizations with their planning and goal-setting needs. If your community or organization would like to learn more about the Vision to Action process or resources, please contact David Darling at 785-532-1512 or Dan Kahl at 785-532-5840. To order the manual, contact Julie Stewart at the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development at Iowa State University: 515-294-8321 or jstewart@iastate.edu . --Dan Kahl dkahl@oznet.ksu.edu
