2002 K-STATE RESEARCH AND EXTENSION INTERN PROGRAM
All county/district offices should have received one copy of the information about the 2002 K-State Research and Extension Intern program.

Brief proposals outlining the county's plan for the intern are due to Area Directors and the Extension Operations Office by February 22.

The intern program is one of the primary recruiting tools for extension agent positions. Of the 63 students who have served as interns since 1990, 22 are currently employed by K-State Research and Extension or have been employed at some time since they completed their internship.

Hosting an intern adds new enthusiasm and a fresh perspective to an office, in addition to assisting the agents with the implementation of their educational programming. Providing an intern with a successful experience does require an additional commitment of staff time, so preference is given to offices that are fully staffed with their allocation of agents.

For questions, contact Area Directors or Stacey Warner at 785-532-5790. --Stacey M. Warner swarner@oznet.ksu.edu
