Some ideas might include citizenship, communication, conflict management, ethics, motivation, initiatives, decision making, leading by example, time management, using your resources, leadership after high school, getting involved, international citizenship, diversity and multi-cultural studies. You might also consider offering a class for more than one session. Consulting Groups will be offered on Saturday, November 23, 11:00-12:00 noon. The purpose of the Consulting Groups is to get youth opinions, ideas and solutions for the participants to take back to their own communities. Some topic areas might include: technology, continuing 4-H involvement, expanding 4-H involvement, power of youth, healthier and safer youth, ethical solutions, diversity, maintaining interest and motivation. FORT RILEY OPEN HOUSE JUNE 1 In addition, the public will be allowed to visit the Close Combat Tactical Trainer (CCTT), where they will experience the simulations of a M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank and a M2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle. They will learn about the weapon systems of these vehicles and engage in simulated battle scenarios at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California, via virtual reality. Our goal is to host over 30,000 visitors, and with your support we could exceed this goal. Please help us get our open invitation out to the public so that as many citizens as possible can enjoy our celebration of the United States Army and Fort Riley. I hope that you will be among the thousands of citizens who join us on Saturday, June 1. --Thomas F. Metz, Major General, U.S. Army, Commanding General
