EXTENSION CONFERENCE INFORMATION The committee would appreciate help with some items. We have had several requests to block out time for meetings, both formal and informal, with different Research and Extension teams. If your team has a particular request, please let us know. We also are looking for suggestions for training sessions that would be of interest to a broad audience. WASTE REMEDIATION CONFERENCE ANNOUNCED Topics related to the conference include magnitude/extent of the challenge, fumigants and volatile organic chemicals, nitrogen, pesticides, modeling tools for practical solutions, general remediation/resource management decision making, and livestock waste treatment. OPPORTUNITIES ANNOUNCED BY KANSAS 4-H FOUNDATION New for this year are "Kansas 4-H Response Awards." These will be small cash awards, not to exceed $500, for innovative local programming in either volunteer development or youth involvement. Applications will be received four times annually, July 1, October 1, January 1, and April 1. Funding for successful applications will be available within approximately two business weeks of each due date.
