NEXT ANNUAL CONFERENCE SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 2004
After much input and discussion, we have decided to schedule the next K-State Research and Extension Annual Conference on January 6-9, 2004, which is a Tuesday - Friday. There will be no Annual Conference in  October 2003.

I realize about half of the input suggested a preference for the second week of January. Unfortunately, the university is going to start classes on Wednesday of that week in the future, which means campus personnel will be involved with students late registering, etc., on Monday and Tuesday. Thus, to truly free up researchers and campus staff to attend the K-State Research and Extension Annual Conference, we were forced to move into the first week of January.

I apologize for not announcing these dates at this year's conference. We simply were not able to work out all the details and make the necessary reservations until last week. Thanks. --Marc A. Johnson mjohnson@oznet.ksu.edu
