RETIREMENT INCENTIVE PROGRAM
In preparation for budget reductions next year, K-State Research and
Extension is offering a retirement incentive program for full-time, ranked
faculty with at least a 50 percent appointment in K-State Research and
Extension on state and federal appropriated funds. Individuals must be
eligible for full, regular retirement by June 30, 2003, to participate.
The incentive amount is one year's salary spread over two fiscal years
(not including benefits), in exchange for an agreement to fully retire by
the end of this fiscal year. Eligible individuals will receive details of
the program by mail in the next few days. --Marc Johnson mjohnson@oznet.ksu.edu
OZNET HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
A reduced holiday work schedule (December 24, 2002, through January 1,
2003) is in effect for most people on campus. OzNet services, including
e-mail and web functions, will be available but operating in
"unattended" mode during this time. This means that should there
be any interruption in service, IET staff may not be readily available. If
these services are interrupted, please contact IET staff by first calling
785-532-6270. Otherwise, call us in the following order should you need
assistance: Larry Havenstein, 785-537-0131; Will Baldwin, 785-537-4346;
Roger Terry, 785-537-2245; Richard Wear, 785-456-7192. No one will be
available on December 25, 2002 or January 1, 2003. Technical support staff
(students) will not be available from December 24 through January 1.
Normal operations will resume January 2, 2003. --Roger Terry rterry@oznet.ksu.edu
TIME TO CHANGE YOU eID
The January 6th no-charge period for changing eIDs for faculty and staff
is coming soon. However, before a person can change their eID, they need
to know their current eID and the password associated with it. If you do
not know the password for your current eID or haven't changed your
password for your eID since September, you will need to re-activate your
eID by going to http://www.ksu.edu/activateid/
.
For more details on this process, please see http://accounts.oznet.ksu.edu/keas/

MAKE YOUR POWER OF YOUTH PLEDGES NOW!
With twenty-two days to go until the end of the year, 4-H is still shy of
its goal of five million hours pledged for the Power of YOUth Pledge
campaign. The community service campaign has logged 4,033,600 pledge hours
so far. It is not too late to pledge hours for 2002 to the campaign at www.4hcentennial.org/powerofyouth/pledge/page1.asp
. If you have already pledged your hours and fulfilled your pledge, please
make sure that you have marked your pledges off as complete! If you don't
update your pledge when you have fulfilled it, you won't appear on your
county pledge list so that you can receive the recognition you deserve!
To update your pledge, log in at www.4hcentennial.org/powerofyouth/uppledge/login.asp
, using your e-mail address and the ID that was e-mailed to you when you
pledged. If you have any questions or have trouble logging in, please
contact Steven Graf at sgraf@fourhcouncil.edu
.
The Power of YOUth Pledge Campaign will accept pledge hours and fulfilled
pledges for 2002 until January 15, 2003. After that date, the 4-H
Centennial Web site will be frozen as a capsule of the centennial year,
and no more 2002 Power of YOUth Pledges or fulfillment updates will be
taken. If you have been collecting hours for large groups, and you need
help logging them into the Power of YOUth Pledge database or updating the
pledges you've already logged, call Steven Graf at 301-961-2993 or e-mail
him at sgraf@fourhcouncil.edu
. A new 4-H community service pledge site will debut in early January
2003. --Ann Domsch adomsch@oznet.ksu.edu
