ROD BUCHELE - NEW
SOUTHWEST AREA EXTENSION 4-H YOUTH DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
It is a pleasure to announce that Rod Buchele has accepted the position as
our new K-State Research and Extension, Southwest Area Extension 4-H Youth
Development Specialist. Rod and his family will be moving to Garden City
and he will begin his duties on September 2. He brings a lot of experience
to this position and since 1993, has served as the Colorado State Youth
Development Agent for the Southeast Area. Prior to this, Rod served as a
county extension agent in Florida and Wisconsin. He received a B.S. in
Economics from Iowa State University and a M.S. in Educational Psychology
from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

NO-TILL ON THE PLAINS TOUR 2003
Jana Lindley, No-Till on the Plains, Inc. program coordinator, wishes to
announce and invite you and your interested crop producers to the
upcoming No-Till on the Plains Whirlwind Tour 2003. The tour will begin
on July 28 and continue through July 30. Speakers include Ray Ward, Ward
Labs in Kearny NE; Bob Wolf, K-State Research & Extension; and Paul
Jasa, University of Nebraska Cooperative Extension. There will be
approximately half a day in the classroom with the other half in the

State 4-H Office know that your county/district wants to upgrade their
Blue Ribbon Youth Enrollment Software in order to keep track of 4-H
Youth Development participants and volunteers. Please e-mail Cheryl

4-H LIVESTOCK JUDGING CONTEST
A special note of appreciation to Julie Voge and Scott Schaake and
the rest of the Animal Science Department for hosting and soliciting
sponsors for the contest on August 30. They have new sponsors for the
Louisville trip and additional awards. We will be sharing more of this
