NONPROFIT CONFERENCE TO FOCUS ON HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT PERCEPTIONS
A conference for nonprofit organizations working on environmental and health issues in Kansas will explore results of a recent public opinion survey measuring Kansans’ level of awareness and concern over the impact of environmental factors on human health. The survey and the June 4, 2004 conference are sponsored by the Kansas Natural Resource Council and Wichita State University’s Geology Department, and funded by grants from Kansas Health Foundation’s Recognition Grant Program. The conference will be held in WSU’s Hughes Metropolitan Complex in Wichita.

The conference agenda is designed to improve the effectiveness of nonprofits’ education and advocacy work by replacing assumptions about public opinion with measured facts, and by providing opportunity for new partnerships as plans are developed around the new information.

Interested nonprofits may contact Jay Barnes, Executive Director of KNRC, at 316-686-6043, or jay@knrc.ws , for more information and to be added to the invitation list. Please contact Jay by May 10. --Steven Graham sgraham@oznet.ksu.edu
