K-STATE LEADERSHIP SEMINAR
Registration for the 2014 K-State Leadership Seminar will include
a brand new feature: Every registered participant
will receive a personal copy of the new book, “For the Common Good.”
This year’s seminar will be on Tuesday, March
11, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the K-State Student Union in
Manhattan. This year’s topic is “Leadership
for the Common Good.” The keynote speaker is Ed
O'Malley, President and CEO of the Kansas Leadership Center, K-State alumnus, and
co-author of the new book.
Breakout sessions will include
information on the four competencies of effective leaders outlined in
the book, including: Manage self, Diagnose situation, Intervene skillfully, and
Energize others. During lunch, National
Geographic Photographer Jim Richardson will discuss leadership through
photography. The seminar is intended to give
participants practical, hands-on information and tools; best practices for
effective leadership; inspiration to exercise leadership when it really counts;
an idea of where to go for additional leadership resources; and a connection to
others who are working to grow their leadership skills. The seminar is listed on the KSRE professional
development catalog.
We greatly
appreciate the financial sponsorship for this event which has been provided by
the K-State College of Agriculture, K-State Research and Extension, and
others. Special reduced rates are available for
teams who attend as a group. For more
