Shout Out: Lisa Martin

Submitted by Gregg Hadley

Cindy Evans suggested sending a Shout Out to Lisa Martin, EFNEP Agent in Shawnee County.

Lisa was recognized as the 2019 Shawnee County Public Health Champion. In Lisa’s 21-year tenure with Extension, EFNEP has graduated over 4,200 individuals, empowering them to feed their families well with limited resources. Lisa provides leadership to Heartland Healthy Neighborhoods which is working to launch a Farm and Food Council to address regulations, policies and environments that hinder the adoption of a healthy lifestyle. She co-authored a Culture of Health grant proposal and is giving leadership to initiatives including Top City Growers, the Community Garden Network, the Vegetable Growers’ Certificate program and more. Congratulations Lisa!

Way to go, Lisa!

If you know of a colleague who deserves a Shout Out, please send their name(s) and the reason for the Shout Out to ghadley@ksu.edu.
