Opportunities for Extension Faculty Through NSF Partnerships

Submitted by Daryl Buchholz

Extension performs vital education and outreach for many researchers, but did you know that Extension goals also align with the goals and priorities of National Science Foundation (NSF) in areas of promoting informal learning and preparing people to perform citizen science?

A special pre-conference session is scheduled on Monday, October 19, prior to the start of the Research and Extension Annual Conference. The purpose is to engage research and extension faculty with NSF Program Managers to discuss strategies on how Extension faculty cannot only enhance NSF project submissions and broader impacts for others, but also to compete for your own awards. An engaging seminar is scheduled for October 19, 2015, in the Alumni Center Purple Pride Room from 1 to 4 p.m. We hope to attract Extension faculty traveling into Manhattan along with faculty on campus. The event is free, but registration is required for planning and follow-up purposes. Please note that registration is separate from Annual Conference registration and can be found by clicking on this link: https://kstate.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_d4oAgZgheVs0Gxf.
