Who Moved My Cheese?
This past week the Women of K-State group met for a luncheon, and the presentation given by Shanna Legleiter, Director of Learning and Development in Human Capital Services, focused on the book, "Who Moved My Cheese?" by Dr. Spencer Johnson. While I was not in attendance, I did read an email encouraging colleagues to watch the video. It is a great little book with lots of lessons in how we deal with change. I encourage you to follow this link to a Wikipedia description of the book and its lessons, and to follow this link to that 16 minute video that captures the broad content of the book. Some will say it's a bit childish in its presentation, but the message is clear and thought provoking for how you respond to change around you in both work and life.
Change is the only constant in our lives and our work. This reminder of how it is we respond to change makes all the difference in the world as to how successful we are in navigating the opportunities / problems we face. I hope you will watch the video and think through some of the lessons taught with this simple analogy of how change happens and its our response to change that affects our ability to accomplish our wants and desires through work and all of life. And, have a great week!
