Submitted by Jennifer Williams

National Wildfire Coordinating Group logo

The Kansas Forest Service will host the annual Fireline Safety Refresher for anyone needing to renew their red card qualifications.

When: Saturday, March 4, 2017

Where: KFS State Office, 2610 Claflin Road, Manhattan

Cost: Free!

Bring: Helmet and gloves for shelter deployment drills

This class will meet National Wildfire Coordinating Group standards for annual wildfire safety refreshers. The pack test will be offered (weather permitting) upon completion for those wishing to take it, but is not a required part of the refresher itself. If you wish to take the pack test bring suitable footwear, clothing, and pack.

Depending on final schedule, this may involve a working lunch. Details will be provided to those registered as the time gets closer.

For details and to register, contact Eric Ward at 785-532-3307 or eward@ksu.edu. Space is limited so registration is necessary!
