KEAA Meeting at Annual Conference
The Kansas Extension Agents Association (KEAA) will be meeting during Annual Conference on Wednesday, November 1, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Main Ballroom. For those with lunch tickets, a salad and baked potato bar will be available. Those without meal tickets are encouraged to attend the business meeting which will start at 12:15 p.m.
Due to confusion concerning last year’s failed vote to transition the organization to a Kansas Joint Council of Extension Professionals (KS-JCEP), the proposal will be addressed again. The motion will be forwarded to accept proposed changes to the constitution and by-laws of KEAA which will change the organization to KS-JCEP. Voting will be done by paper ballot with member association presidents responsible for the distribution of ballots. In accordance with our by-laws, ballots may only be cast by KEAA members in attendance.
If this first motion does not achieve the required two-thirds vote of the members present, a second motion will be forwarded to amend Article IV of the by-laws to include the Kansas Association of Community Development Extension Professionals as a member organization of KEAA. Voting on this motion will be done by a show of hands.
As a reminder, all local unit Extension agents who are members of the Kansas Association of County Agricultural Agents, Kansas Association of Extension 4-H Agents, and the Kansas Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences are also members of KEAA and eligible to participate in KEAA meetings. Members are encouraged to visit http://ksjcep.org/ prior to the meeting to view both the current KEAA constitution and by-laws as well as the proposed constitution and by-laws for a KS-JCEP.
