This Thursday’s (December 7; 1 - 2 p.m.) national Rural Health and Safety Education webinar features Sam Quinones, journalist, storyteller, and author of the acclaimed book, Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic. He will be discussing the factors that went into creating our national epidemic of opiate addiction: pharmaceutical marketing, demanding American health consumers, changes in our heroin market and more.

The Rural Health and Safety Education webinar series, "Combating Opioids," is hosted by Purdue University Extension and the NCRCRD as part of a USDA/NIFA and SAMHSA grant. This grant is supporting the implementation of the Strengthening Families Program 10-14 (SFP 10-14) in a number of Kansas communities in collaboration with Extension and local judicial districts.
