Diversity Programs Office Update

Submitted by The College of Agriculture Diversity Programs Office

On behalf of the Diversity Programs Office (DPO), we would like to congratulate all of the Spring 2019 graduates who have been a part of our office’s programing during their time here at K-State. Commencement is a time where we see the culmination of our efforts yield new beginnings. Therefore, we would like to thank all of the students that have made an impact on our office. This includes those students with whom we have grown familiar with seeing in the Diversity Programs Office, those who have participated in the MAPS Summer Bridge Program, the students that were involved in the KSRE programs, students that participated in MANRRS. We hope the K-State family has helped you pursue your dreams in your respective fields of interest. The DPO and its staff wish you the best of luck as you transition into the future. Here is a list of graduates that were Project IMPACT scholars and/or MANRRS chapter members.

Spring 2019 Graduates
Tiffany Carter- Ph.D. Agronomy, KSRE 2011
Marie Armstrong- MPH, Public Health, KSRE 2016
Lonnie Hobbs, Jr.- M.S. Agricultural Economics, KSRE 2017
Makinsey McIntosh – B.S. Animal Science, MAPS 2015
Vi Nguyen- B.S. Animal Science, MAPS 2015
Miranda Stubbs- B.S. Animal Science, MAPS 2015

Finally, we would like to say a special thanks to Vi Nguyen for her work as our office’s undergraduate assistant. The office had a great year and we thank her for her contributions.

It is our hope that everyone had a strong finish to the Spring semester, 2019. As summer approaches we are excited to welcome our various cohorts such as the Nicodemus Educational Camps, MAPS and Kompass students, along with our KSRE Fellows. These students are taking the time out of their summers to invest in themselves, and this is something that should be recognized.

We expect a busy summer and so we ask that you continue to look for our diversity programs as we continue to advertise. We appreciate your support and presence. For more information about upcoming events, or to collaborate with the DPO, please call 785-532-5793 or contact the DPO staff, Lonnie Hobbs, Jr. or Dr. Zelia Wiley, Assistant Dean.
