STEM Partnership Training Opportunity with KSU Polytechnic, January 2020
We are excited to provide Extension professionals and volunteers the opportunity to come to the Kansas State University, Polytechnic Campus in Salina, to participate in a hands-on series of workshops and make connections with individuals on campus as it relates to the STEM areas.
In 2020, we will host two identical Train the Trainer, Level 1 Workshops on January 8 and 14 from 9:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on the Salina Campus. Each workshop will be limited to 20 participants and the registration fee will be $15 which will cover lunch and some materials used during the workshop. The hands-on session topics will include coding, electrical, and 3-D printing. A fourth topic is being secured.
The goal of these workshops is for participants to receive “how to” information to plan a STEM day for youth back in their Extension Unit. Participants will receive a mini-grant up to $100 (one per Extension Unit – Districts may receive multiple mini-grants up to the number of counties in the District providing workshop participants and youth programs meet criteria) Extension Unit – Districts may receive mini-grants up to the number of counties in the District) if the STEM day for youth is held within 12 months of attending the Train the Trainer Workshop. Additional details will be provided at the workshop.
To register for one of the workshops, go here. Registration will be due by January 2.
These workshops are made possible thanks to the generosity of the Kansas 4-H Foundation Innovation Grant. This is year one of the five year partnership with KSRE/4-H and Kansas State University, Polytechnic Campus.
Don’t forget to take a moment to share this opportunity with volunteers in your Extension Unit.
