Grant Writing- Steps to Bring Funding to Your Community

Submitted by Nancy Daniels

According to The Foundation Center, $522 million in grants were awarded in Kansas in 2016. What is the number 1 reason our town didn't receive grants? We didn't ask.

Almost 1700 people have attended grant workshops in the last three years and written successful grants of more than $6.7 million. Here's another low-effort, high-impact next step you can take: join a group of Extension agents who will learn to use PIVOT, K-State's online grant search tool. Because you are K-State faculty, PIVOT allows you to define a search and save it so that as new grants are announced, announcements are  sent to your email.

Picture this: you can be a source of grant knowledge for your PRIDE community, FFA, Fair Board, City or County.

Training will be by zoom and is tentatively set to begin in late March. To be part of this training or schedule a grant workshop contact Nancy Daniels at nkdaniels@ksu.edu.
