Next Living Well Together Program Announced—Check Your Credit
Have you been a victim of the recent unemployment scam? Will you be purchasing something on credit soon? If so, you will want to know what your credit score is and review your credit report. Credit reports are an important tool to help manage one’s finances. Did you know that only one in three Kansans check their report annually?
According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, each consumer is allowed one free credit report from each of the three bureaus each year. Check Your Credit is a K-State program that reminds and encourages consumers to “check” their credit and use it to make wise financial decisions. Kansas ranks at the bottom or near the bottom of the 50 states in checking their credit reports each year. This program encourages taking advantage of getting credit reports and making decisions accordingly.
Our next “Living Well Together” program will focus on this fairly new K-State program called “Check Your Credit” that will be held on Thursday, March 4, at 6:45 p.m. There is no charge to participate in this program, but registration is required.
