Happy May!

As we wrap up the 2022 spring semester, the College of Agriculture/KSRE Diversity Programs Office (DPO) is preparing for our summer programs and the K-State Minorities in AG, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS) Chapter is wrapping up a few events.

On April 13, the K-State MANRRS Chapter elected its new officers for the 2022-2023 school year. Congratulations to the following officers for their installation into the MANRRS Executive Board:

  • Faculty Advisor – Dr. Zelia Wiley
  • Co Advisor – Lonnie Hobbs, Jr.
  • President – Brandon Green
  • Undergraduate Student Vice President – Zenzele Asante
  • Graduate Student Vice President – Raymond Thomas
  • Secretary – Annika Bhatt
  • Treasurer – Marie Bruce
  • Public Relations Officer – Britney Sanchez
  • Parliamentarian – Natalie Delgado

We hope to have another productive and exciting year. We would like to thank the former executive officers for all they have done, and we wish them success in their academic and career journeys. We would also like to thank Frantina Williams, BASF business representative, Professional MANRRS member, K-State College of AG Alumni and previous K-State MANRRS member, for leading the membership charge during the Officer Retreat on April 20.

Additionally, MANRRS is hosting a spring 2022 study hall. This will be held in person, May 2-5, 2022. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday the study hall will be hosted in Waters Hall 106 from 6-10 p.m., and Tuesday the study hall will take place in the Morris Family Multicultural Center (MFMC) Room 204. It is a great opportunity to come and study for your finals with snacks and some familiar faces. Thank you to our sponsors, Diversity and Multicultural Student Affairs (DMSA), John Deere Co., and Cargill.
