Shout Out: Cassidy Lutz and Amanda Clasen
This week the Shout Out is from Krista Harding, Southwind Extension District Director; and is sent for Cassidy Lutz, Southwind District Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent and Amanda Clasen, Southwind District Community Vitality Extension Agent. Krista writes:
I want to send a Shout Out to Cassidy Lutz and Amanda Clasen for hosting Youth Babysitting Clinics across the Southwind District. The timing of the clinics was perfect – spring break! Students were out of school and at a time when many begin to think about summer employment opportunities.
With the availability of child care a huge concern, these clinics provided an opportunity for youth ages 12-18 to gain the skills and training to equip them to provide a much needed service in our communities.
A mom of one of the participants posted a note on social media about her daughter attending a clinic. A comment on the post read: “This is awesome! Way to go Sydney. I was so happy to see this being offered. We used to have trainings like this when I was younger but they have been few and far between for many years. Kudos to the Extension office for doing such great things and providing these opportunities for your youth.”
