Food Councils

Food, farm, and policy councils are groups formed in many communities for the purpose of bringing people together to discuss and take action on challenges related to the food system. Many food councils begin by doing a food system assessment or creating a food system plan to help better understand the needs and challenges of the community.

The Kansas Food Action Network supports and connects local councils with monthly calls and technical support. Information about existing councils around the state is available on their website.
