Community Health Corner

The National Extension Framework for Health Equity and Well-being recommends using community development strategies and health literacy programs to ensure that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible. The following resources help us improve well-being for all, and achieve Healthy Kansas 2030 and Healthy People 2030 objectives.
Managing Digital Parenting Anxiety: According to Common Sense Media, digital parenting anxiety is the overwhelming worry about whether you as a parent are making the right choices about your child’s life with technology. An age-based guide for parents and other resources are available on this website. Children can also have digital anxiety when they can’t separate themselves from media technology. Learn more here from the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.
Kansas Health Foundation (KHF) Introduces Health Happenings newsletter: Each month, KHF highlights its health initiatives, impactful work of partners and collective efforts to make Kansas the healthiest state in the nation. This month’s Health Happenings features the Hunger Free Kansas initiative launched by KHF and the community revitalization work of Black Entrepreneurs in Manhattan.
