The National Extension Framework for Health Equity and Well-being recommends using community development strategies and health literacy programs for everyone’s health. From urban, metro, suburban, rural and frontier locations, Extension works in partnership with communities to deliver meaningful and relevant programs and initiatives to keep health closer to home.  The following resources help us improve well-being for all, and achieve Healthy People 2030 objectives.

An Ounce of Prevention: When it comes to health, catching problems early can make all the difference. Routine screenings can help detect conditions like high blood pressure, cancer, and cholesterol issues before symptoms even start. But not all screenings are right for everyone—this article from NIH explores the benefits, potential downsides, and how guidelines evolve over time. Learn more about what tests may be appropriate in different situations: An Ounce of Prevention – NIH News in Health.

Neutralizing Noroviruses: Researchers are getting closer to outsmarting norovirus—the virus behind many foodborne illness outbreaks. A recent study uncovered broadly neutralizing antibodies that may lead to the development of a more effective vaccine. This is promising news for reducing outbreaks and protecting vulnerable populations. Learn more about the research breakthrough: Neutralizing Noroviruses – NIH Research Matters.

Take Action Toward Better Heart Health: The key to better heart health may be in the numbers—blood pressure, cholesterol, weight, and more. This guide from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute offers tools to help track key health stats, support goal setting, and encourage healthy habits using the DASH eating plan and other evidence-based approaches. Explore tools and tips here: Take Action Toward Better Heart Health – NHLBI, NIH.
