Shout Out: Lexie Hayes
This week the Shout Out is from Joel DeRouchey, Extension Swine Specialist, Animal Sciences and Industry; and is sent for Lexie Hays, Youth Livestock Coordinator, Animal Sciences and Industry. Joel writes:
"A shout out to Lexie Hayes, Youth Livestock Coordinator in the Department of Animal Sciences and Industry, who recently provided the primary leadership for the Jr Swine Producer Day and the Jr Goat Producer Day held in Manhattan. Each program had approximately 350 participants, representing 53 and 59 counties for each event. The program was open to youth, parents, extension agents, and project leaders. With the construction of new facilities ongoing, a change in venue to the Stout Center was needed. This took extra planning, coordination, and communication with co-organizers, volunteers, and participants. In typical Lexie fashion, it just got done without a hitch for both events.
While she will be quick to give full credit to the co-organizers, numerous K-State personnel and staff, and adult and student volunteers and speakers who helped make these a successful and meaningful experience, we all know she is the leader who makes these happen."
Lexie -- thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues and K-State Research and Extension.
