Diversity Programs Office Summer Programs Are Underway
The start of June means that summer programs have officially begun in the Diversity Programs Office (DPO). The weekend before last we welcomed five students for the Kansas State Research & Extension Summer Research Fellowship Program. We welcomed more students this past weekend and this week. We are excited and energized for what is to come both this month and in July.
DPO would like to share some information about our summer programs:
• 2016 Nicodemus Educational Camp, in partnership with KSU and the College of Agriculture, will give the campers, grades 5th – 10th, the opportunities to explore majors and careers in the Agriculture industry as well as learning about the historic town of Nicodemus. Today the students will visit the Insect Zoo, The Gardens, dairy unit, sheep and meat goat center, O. H. Kruse Feed Technology Innovation Center, and Agronomy North Farm. We thank everyone helping to provide these students with a great experience.
• 2016 MAPS: The Project Impact Summer Bridge Program gives students the opportunity to earn up to 6 credit hours over six weeks. This summer the College of Agriculture will be hosting 10 students for this program. Students arrived last Friday and will be on campus until July 21. Sunday night the students had dinner with Interim President/General Richard Myers at the president’s house.
