Meetings Scheduled to Stabilize 4-H Funding

Submitted by Barbara Stone

Recently it was announced that there would be a series of meetings in July to discuss how Kansas 4-H Youth Development might stabilize funding for the Kansas 4-H Program. The purpose of these meetings is to have an open dialogue and gather input about stabilizing 4-H funding. These initial meetings are for all K-State Research and Extension professionals only, including agents, directors, specialists, program assistants and office professionals.

Please register for one of the following meetings here: 4-H Youth Development Input Meeting.

Open discussion and dialogue is crucial as we address the loss of public funds and its impact on 4-H. Please make all efforts to attend; however, if you are unable to attend a meeting, I welcome a conversation with you after we have completed the series of meetings.

We are in difficult and uncertain times and this is an opportunity to re-examine the profound impact 4-H has on our youth, our families, 4-H alumni, and the state of Kansas. Together, we can build a long term strategy for 4-H Youth Development that supplements the loss of public funds and continues to build a quality youth program long into the future.
