Diversity Programs Office Update

This past week, the Project IMPACT Kompass program was offered for the second straight year. Kompass, a three-day intensive bridge program, was designed to accelerate academic success for multicultural, incoming freshmen students in the colleges of agriculture, business and engineering.

At Kompass, students had the opportunity to receive Guaranteed 4.0 training, participate in the KSU Challenge course, teambuilding activities, workshops, and dining and business professional etiquette classes. The program wrapped up last Wednesday with closing remarks by Dr. April Mason, Provost and Senior Vice President, at the closing luncheon.

There were 12 participants in the program who are enrolled in the College of Agriculture. During the “College Break Out Session,” Dr. Terri Blackmon took the 12 agriculture students to visit Dr. Fadi Aramouni who showed the students his lab and treated them to ice cream at Call Hall.
