State Extension Advisory to Meet in Parsons

Submitted by Daryl Buchholz

Daryl Buchholz

State Extension Advisory Council (SEAC) meets this week in Parsons at our new Kansas State University Southeast Research and Extension Center. For most advisory members, this will be a first look at this new facility and its conference capabilities and offices.  Also, if you are not familiar with who and for what purpose the SEAC exists, I encourage you to follow this link.

The SEAC will have opportunity to hear about priority, high impact programming within the Wildcat Extension District and across southeast Kansas. We will also be in dialog and discussion with the SEAC on topics including Fair Labor Standards Act and its impacts on K-State and Extension, outlook for state and local funding, strategies for further developing extramural funding streams, specialization of our Extension agents, Extension district development discussions, and positioning Extension to provide the greatest value for the long haul (sustainability). We are looking forward to a challenging and engaging discussion of these very important topics.
