Mental Health First Aid for Adults Training Opportunity

Submitted by David Key

The Meadowlark Extension District will be hosting a Mental Health First Aid training for Adults on Monday, January 9, 2017 in Seneca at the Meadowlark Extension District Seneca Office, 1500 Community Drive, Seneca KS. There is no cost to attend this workshop and lunch is provided.

Mental Health First Aid is an eight hour training course designed to give members of the public key skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Just as CPR training helps a layperson without medical training assist an individual experiencing a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid training helps a layperson assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis.

This training is offered by the KANZA Mental Health & Guidance Center, Inc. The Meadowlark District extends a welcome to those interested in learning more about Mental Health First Aid to spend the day with us on January 9 in Seneca! For more information about this course, please feel free to contact David Key, District Director, at 785-336-2184 or dkey@ksu.edu. Our inclement weather date will be January 23! Please let our Seneca office know by Wednesday, January 4, 2017 if you are interested in attending.
