Looking and Moving Forward
Submitted by Jim Lindquist, Acting Associate Director
With this being the first full week in June, the busier than normal summer season for many of our K-State Research and Extension family is officially underway. Last week saw the retirement of our friend and leader Dr. Daryl Buchholz. We wish Daryl well in retirement and hope many of you are able to attend Daryl’s retirement reception this Friday, June 9.
I am honored to fill in during this interim period until the Associate Director Search Committee has completed their task and a new Associate Director has been selected. Be watching for the announcement of the interview schedule and plan to participate. I echo Daryl’s comments from last week’s Tuesday Letter that K-State Research and Extension has a bright future. We are addressing issues important to our Kansas residents and achieving significant impacts that make a real difference in people’s lives. By participating in the interview process and providing your feedback, you can help select the next Associate Director to lead us as we continue our strong K-State Research and Extension tradition of responsive and relevant programming.
We will be having different members of our administrative team contributing to the opening article in the Tuesday letter beginning next week. We have a great leadership team and I look forward to their contributions to this weekly communication.
