National Fire Safety Week - October 8 - 14
Did you know the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that fires and explosions accounted for 3% of workplace fatalities in 2007? Kansas State University Environmental Health & Safety will be providing on-hands fire extinguisher training as scheduled:
Manhattan Campus:
October 9: Wefald Hall
10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
October 10 - 11: Bosco Plaza
10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Kansas State Polytechnic:
October 12: East of College Center
10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
A prerequisite for the fire extinguisher training is the completion of the web based program titled, “The ABC’s of Portable Fire Extinguisher Selection, Use and Maintenance.” In addition, the National Ag Safety Database gives great fire prevention tips specific to Agriculture. This is an excellent opportunity to engage staff in fire safety. Remember - Every Second Counts!
