iTAC and K-State Research and Extension are pleased to announce that Brent Comp will be providing desktop support for K-State Research and Extension administrative offices in Umberger Hall, the Northeast Regional Extension Office in Throckmorton Hall and KSRE offices in Northeast Kansas. Before joining K-State on November 6, Brent worked for Geary Community Hospital as a Level 1 and 2 technician and later was promoted to System Administrator. In these positions, Brent maintained the VMware environment, provided maintenance and support for desktops and provided user support.
He just completed a project upgrading the EMR system for the hospital, which involved virtual servers on the VMware environment, virtual private networks and network routes and automating SQL tasks. During his tenure with the hospital, he also was tasked with helping to design, implement and maintain an Avaya VoIP phone system.
Currently Brent is in training to learn more about the systems we support. Once he is acclimated, he will travel to the county and district offices in northeast Kansas to meet with staff and learn more about the offices. Brent earned an Associate’s degree from Manhattan Area Technical College. He is from White City, Kansas. Beginning November 27, Brent will be housed in UM 113. His email is bcomp@ksu.edu.
Please join us in welcoming Brent to K-State and K-State Research and Extension.
