Critical Conversations for Healthy Communities
K-State Research and Extension is excited to announce a series of critical community health conversations being offered March 26 and 27, 2018. The purpose of these conversations will be to bring KSRE agents and key local community partners together to discuss Extension’s role in creating healthy communities. We will also help you plan for further discussions when you get home. We envision that your key local community partners might include a board member, PDC member, public health official, school board member, and the like – whoever you work closely with in your community to improve health is welcome. We would, however, ask you to limit your guests to two individuals per county or agent, and to invite those who are likely to have commitment to their communities' long-term health and productivity. If you are new in your position, or don’t know who to invite, reach out and make those connections now – this will be a great opportunity to learn and work together to plan for the future.
This full-day opportunity will be available in seven different locations on two different days. You may register for whichever day and location works best for you and your partners. The day will include an online introduction by Dr. Paula Peters, followed by networking, brainstorming, and action-planning that will be led by a state and/or area specialist. All of the events will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include refreshments and lunch.
