Kansas Forest Service Hiring Student GIS Technician

Submitted by Jennifer Williams

Kansas Forest Service

The GIS student position will be creating statewide geospatial data for the Kansas Forest Service. The research and data include various techniques including object-based image analysis, remote sensing, GIS editing and using tools that the US Forest Service has created specifically for this work. This data is very important to the agency and state, and it needs to be of very high quality.

The student worker will be provided resources and opportunities to improve his/her GIS skills. Much of the work will be published by the USFS and used by KFS and our partners to improve natural resource management in the state. The applicant must have taken a GIS course or be currently enrolled in a GIS course. He/she must have knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS products.
