Community Vitality Retreat Focuses on Building Entrepreneurs

Submitted by Cindy Evans

The Community Vitality Program Focus Team invites all Extension professionals to attend their retreat April 3 - 5 in Topeka. The program will focus on entrepreneurism and includes lessons learned by local entrepreneurs, attendance at the One Million Cups program where two entrepreneurs present their business ideas, and a tour of 712 Innovations and Makerspace. Participants will learn about various models of entrepreneurial mentoring,  Food Systems Plans, NetWork Kansas and e-Community initiatives.

On Wednesday, Cody Foster will speak to the group during lunch at The Pennant. Cody hails from Stockton, Kansas, and is a co-founder of Advisors Excel. Cody has built a successful business in Topeka employing 500 people and is instrumental in efforts to revitalize downtown.
