Robert Holcombe Retires After 24 Years of Service

Submitted by Gina Nixon

Robert “Bob” Holcombe retired from the Kansas State University Department of Communications and Agricultural Communications on June 1, 2018.

As a graphic designer in the department’s publishing unit, he created illustrations, posters, displays, signs, logos, banners, marketing product designs, maps, College of Agriculture recruitment materials, publications, and more. He also took many of the photographs used in his projects.

Bob earned a Builder Award from K-State Research and Extension for his creativity, commitment, and customer service. His projects have earned an Outstanding Professional Skill Award plus Silver and Gold awards from the Association for Communication Excellence (ACE). He also created the “Cool Cat” mascot for the ACE 2003 international meeting hosted by Kansas ACE members.

His efforts have made a positive impact on K-State Research and Extension, the department, and the college. We wish him well in retirement.
