Shout Out: A Shout Out to Road Warrior David Dunn
This week’s Shout Out is from Stacey Warner and goes to Micro Computer Support Technician (AKA Road Warrior) David Dunn.
When hosting a conference like the national Epsilon Sigma Phi Conference, nobody notices technology unless something goes wrong. When it doesn’t, we often forget to thank our IT support for all the work they put in to making the conference or meeting a success. We are not making that mistake.
Putting on a conference the size of the Epsilon Sigma Phi Conference is a major undertaking from the IT side of things. There are many conference rooms to equip with the appropriate technology. Almost every speaker has unique technology demands. New software is needed. Hardware breaks down. Updates have a tendency to happen in the middle of a keynote presentation.
David Dunn was in charge of our technology at the Epsilon Sigma Phi Conference. He made sure everything was ready to go and he made sure our technology was operating properly. When it didn’t, he was there with a quick fix. To say he worked tirelessly is incorrect. He worked long days and well into the nights. He lived up to his and his colleagues’ title nickname. He was a Road Warrior. Our conference wouldn’t have been the success it was without his efforts.
Thanks David Dunn, for the work you did at the Epsilon Sigma Phi Conference, and, thanks to all of our Road Warriors for the work you do for us. We could not do it without you.
If you know of a colleague or colleagues who are deserving of a Shout Out, please email me their name and the reason for the Shout Out to ghadley@ksu.edu.
