Farmers Market Publications Now Available in Spanish
Some of you may know that KSRE and KDA have 3 publications, available from https://www.ksre.k-state.edu/foodsafety/topics/market.html that may be useful to farmers market vendors and others on the following topics:
- Food Labeling for Kansas Food Producers and Processors;
- Food Safety for Kansas Farmers Markets: Regulations and Best Practices;
- Sampling Safely at Kansas Farmers Markets, Farm Stands, and Related Events
All these publications are now available in Spanish. Note also that we update or check these publications every January, so the versions on the website are current. KDA will have free printed copies of the English and Spanish publications at our remaining upcoming farmers market vendor workshops (Dodge City- Feb. 8, Wichita- Feb. 9, Manhattan- Feb. 15, Hays- Feb. 22), and upon request as quantities allow. The electronic versions are available free from the KSRE website.
We also recently published a food safety worker training brochure for employees at produce farms in Spanish, as well as in English (KSRE publication #MF3438), which are available on our produce safety website: https://www.ksre.k-state.edu/foodsafety/produce/.
