Associate Director Paula Peters to Retire October 4
It has been an honor to work for KSRE for nearly 29 years, but there comes a time when a person needs to move on! I will be retiring October 4, and wanted to thank you for helping to make my career a wonderful experience. I began on October 15, 1990, as a nutrition specialist and was able to move into the FCS Program Leader role within the same Extension system... something that most people don't have the opportunity to do. And this last year as the Associate Director for Extension Programs has allowed me to learn even more about the breadth of ways that we reach people across the state.
You have a great deal to be proud of and I feel very fortunate to have been a part of Extension in Kansas. My leadership role has provided me with the opportunity to interact with Extension leaders in many other states, and I know our system is the envy of many of them. The connections that you have at the local level are just not the same all across the country. Our specialists are among the best, the Program Leader Coordinators make me proud every day, and our administrative team is not surpassed by any....they are always looking out for what is best for all of you and the people you work with.
In retirement, I plan to spend time with my aging parents in South Dakota and with my son in Florida. I will also travel with my husband when his work takes him to interesting places across the country and world. I will miss connecting with you, but will be watching and cheering you all on from the sidelines!
With so much gratitude and my sincere best wishes,
Paula
