Upcoming Chisholm Trail Conference

Submitted by Ron Wilson

KSRE Community Vitality staff are partnering with the International Chisholm Trail Association (ICTA) to conduct the 2020 Chisholm Trail conference virtually, and Extension agents are invited to participate.

The conference will cover history of the trails, the fact that diverse cultures were represented among the historic drovers, updates on proposed legislation to designate the Chisholm and Western Trails as national historic trails, overviews of the beef cattle industry today, and ideas for heritage tourism which could benefit community vitality. KSRE and related conference program participants include Jeff Davidson, Rick Roberts, and Ron Wilson, with Jan Steen, Jaime Menon and Nancy Daniels co-hosting and facilitating on Zoom.

The virtual conference will be on Friday, October 23, from 9:30 to 3:15 p.m. via Zoom. Registration fee includes ICTA dues for 2021. For more information or to register, go to https://www.chisholmtrailassn.com/chisholm-trail-conference.
