Help Recruit Undergraduates to Apply for Research/Extension Internships in Plant Health
If you know undergraduate students with an interest in plant health (very broadly defined!) please share this opportunity. We are advertising heavily at KSU but a main goal is also to recruit students from other institutions (from Kansas and elsewhere).
We had to cancel for 2020 but we are cautiously optimistic about being able to run the program in person this summer. It starts in mid June. The project is funded by a competitive USDA grant.
Summer Research/Extension opportunity at K-State!
Are you an undergraduate student with an interest in plant science, biology, or agriculture topics and looking for an engaging paid summer professional development opportunity?
Kansas State University (K-State) will be offering summer internships in plant health! The projects include plant pathology, plant genetics, horticulture, entomology, agronomy, biochemistry, and microbiology topics. The student interns will work with faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students in multiple departments at K-State on research projects that will be either lab-, greenhouse-, field-based, or a combination of above components. Students will have opportunities to learn about extension and outreach programs that bring our applied science out to farmers and the general public to put science into action. Students will engage in field trips and hands-on group activities plus learn professional development to prepare for graduate school or the workforce.
Application deadline: February 11 (reference letters due February 15)
